Please forgive me for not posting in a very long time! Writing in my blog is a HUGE challenge for me, and a resolution I need to work hard on in this new year. Now that the New Year is here, I thought I'd blog on a few of my favorite details that I've encountered during my planning experiences in 2010.

Check out these chocolate dipped strawberries with little flags reading, "Life's unpredictable, eat dessert first!"

The adorably, whimsical cake topper (sorry for the tiny picture) was custom made by Nicole Clark. She will customize your miniature you by your wedding attire, hair color and style, skin tone and flowers.

Another one of my favorite things is having a very creative hubby (Gerry Pasqualetti) who comes up with some amazing custom made stationery for my clients including escort/place cards, menu cards, table numbers, seating charts, programs and other requested items . The menu card and strawberry flags above are a couple of his creations in which he created a variation of the emblem that was on their invitation. The program below carries their style on.

What a great idea as a guest book! I loved this when my clients first told me they were using an antique typewriter as their guest book.

I love these directional signs that were made for the guests to know what was where! Casey Brooks was able to capture a butterfly perched on one of the signs!

I love how this bride added these embellishments to her waist line, showing lots of textures and subtle variations of natural hues.

My very first wedding at Wiedemann Hill Mansion and what a great wedding it was! Sandra Reed Photography did such a great job capturing the day. The beautiful flowers came from Timothy's, in which Tim was able to pull off the look that Erin wanted, as well as Maribelle who provided the darling looking cake! Erin's vision was to carry the tiffany blue throughout her wedding, along with using a touch of crystals and feathers, remeniscent of the Victorian Era. I miss working with you Erin and Duncan! I hope you are enjoying true wedding bliss and aren't working too hard!

I was invited to a Chef's Table luncheon yesterday at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and the luncheon was absolutely fabulous! Association of Bridal Consultants 2009 Annual Conference

From November 8 - 10, wedding planners and professionals from around the country gathered for the annual Association of Bridal Consultants Business of Brides conference . In addition to the inspirational special guest speakers, there were breakout sessions and 10 minute topics where you could choose your topic of choice to sit in on. In addition to the education that was had by all who attended, fun luncheons and off-site events were planned. I thought I would share a few pics from the luncheons that took place! I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.

I really like the simplicity of this arrangement as well as its versatility. I can see it in a formal, modern wedding or for an outdoor wedding.

A very interesting way of displaying a cake!

I thought this was a great centerpiece!...perfect for a winter wedding with the silver branches and crystals hanging from it.

Here is a variation of the above branch and crystal look with floral embellishments.

Pardon the blurred hand in the pic! I love this centerpiece because of the fresh colors used as well as the abundance of rose petals used around it. A timeless, classic piece.

This centerpiece was at my table.....a beautiful glass lamp base with votive candles illuminating from inside the base, on the top and bottom.

One of the perks of being in this business as a planner is the opportunity that we're given to really get to know our clients. I worked with such a special family last season and felt privileged and honored to be their planner. I felt like "one of the family" with this bride's family. The closeness and openness they have with each other and the way they are enjoying life is so refreshing and inspiring. They possess a unique family closeness that I can only hope for with my family as my children grow older. Emily was so easy-going and appreciative when it came to planning her wedding, as well as with the particulars that her mom and dad expressed. Her groom Tom was equally as expressive. These two are so much in love and I had so much fun working with them!

Runaway Bride 5k

For all you brides out there who love to run (or walk) here's an opportunity you may love to participate in. The Reading Bridal District is hosting the Runaway Bride 5K Race on May 16. Whether or not you are a runner or a walker, it could be a fun challenge to accomplish (with your groom and bridesmaids!) as you are getting in shape for your big day. There will be a free t-shirt and a delicious pancake breakfast by Vonderhaar's after the race. It should be lots of fun, and costumes are encouraged - there are even prizes for the best dressed bride, groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen! There will also be a Kids Fun Run - so you can bring your flower girl and ring bearer as well. You can download a registration form HERE, or stop by amo-ink to fill one out. A Dress To Remember

The Cincinnati Affiliate of the Association of Bridal Consultants is producing A Dress to Remember to benefit the Breast Cancer Recovery Foundation. Dresses That Heal, Inc. will be conducting a silent auction of donated designer gowns, along with other wedding related items, to help send a local breast cancer survivor to a four day retreat to help with the healing process. Enjoy an afternoon of Hors D'oeuvres and Wine, highlighted with a silent auction of designer bridal gowns and design tabletop competition. The cost is a $30 donation and you can register online at Your Dream Day or pay at the door. The fundraiser is taking place on February 22nd from 2-6p.m. at the Cincinnati Contemporary Arts Center located at 44 E 6th Street in downtown Cincinnati.

My First Blog Entry!

I'm pretty excited to FINALLY be creating a blog......something I've known I needed to do for a long time! Now that the snow has melted a little and the school buses are running, my oldest son is in kindergarten, my youngest is napping and I have a little time to post!

I was thrilled to hear that one of my couples, Lara and Dan Berkemeyer are a featured wedding in the Winter 2009 edition of The Knot. Check it out if you can! Their guests walked into a winter wonderland of white.......white hydrangeas, roses and icicles hanging from centerpiece arrangements done by Kevin Ford of Ford Ellington Florist, not to mention a beautiful white cake decked out in snowflakes. They had a perfect day and the weather actually cooperated with them too! Everyone was somewhat comfortable during the outdoor shots while in the middle of January. Crazy Cincinnati weather we have here.
